Muse of Fire
“Great conductors are like wizards with magic wands, wielding enormous power and perfect control, seemingly at will. Silently, apparently with baton alone, they “play” the one hundred musicians of a symphony orchestra with the same ease others handle a single instrument, while the greatest of them can make the experience of listening so profound, they bring whole audiences to tears.” Sounds intriguing, eh?
This is the description about a fabulous, critically acclaimed one-man play, David Katz’s “MUSE of FIRE.” Performed to standing ovations in Maine, Connecticut and Massachusetts, and soon to be seen in Chicago and New York, “MUSE of FIRE” plays for one night only at the Franco-American Heritage Center in Lewiston on September 11 at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $16 for adults, or $14 for students/seniors. Medieval Feast
On October 9, experience a time when court jesters, peasants, knights, and minstrels lucky enough to be in the presence of the king and queen at meal time could enjoy a pageant unlike no other. The annual Medieval Feast at the Franco-American Heritage Center in Lewiston is a time to gather in the Great Hall and await the arrival of the King and Queen, enjoy breathtaking choreography, a menu without utensils, and a cash tavern. Admission is $35, and the show starts promptly at 6 p.m. (It’s rude to be late for the king — people have been known to lose their heads – so plan accordingly.)
